PLENTY TO SEE AND DO

Domaine Le Haut Verger lies in the heart of France in the former duchy Berry, a historical region, close to the village of Gargilesse. For the more energetic guests the house is a perfect starting place for walking and cycling. In fact, the Santiago pilgrimage route runs through the village. You can swim, fish or canoe in the many rivers, there is horse-riding in the fields and forests. And there is the Parc Regional de la Brenne. This area is called the land of 1000 lakes making it a paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers.

Cultural activities also play a large part in the local area with annual spring, summer and autumn music festivals. Nearby are also lots of interesting picturesque villages, market towns, castles and abbeys. And of course there is the writer George Sand, who inspired many romantic painters and impressionists, as well as musicians and poets to come and discover the region.
